Client:
Júlía Runólfsdóttir takes photos of things around her, does layout design and occasionally draws.
Idea:
Júlia had been using the photo sharing website Flickr but needed an alternative to showcase her image-related works. She required something that she could have total control over as well as a custom layout. A new website seemed to be the obvious choice. A small research concluded that a vertical-scrolling layout would be most convenient and other design elements were built around it. Coupled with a minimal design and a black and white color scheme it allows the images to reach the viewer with as few distractions as possible.
www.juliarunolfs.com greets viewers with a single randomly chosen photo that links to its sub-page.
The sub-page identicator is the same as the hovering state of links,
white font on a black background.
While scrolling through sites, the logo stays in a fixed place,
behaving both as an identity and feature, linking back to the homepage.
At the end of each sub-page there is a link that scrolls to the beginning of the page.
